We got an unexpected, but very welcome, early Christmas gift!
Matthew James, our first grandchild, arrived 5 1/2 weeks early on December 19. Mom and baby are doing well, although Matthew needed to spend some time in NICU getting his blood sugars regulated. My husband just left to take the car seat to the hospital -- we got a call that mom and dad are getting ready to bring him home!!
It was heaven to finally get to hold him today. Such a sweet little guy. I love him to bits already!

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas. I'm thankful for you all in my life. Join with me in thanking our Father for the gift of His Son, and for the blessings of this tiny grandson.
xo, Deborah

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the birth of your brand new grandson! Wow, he has a full head of beautiful hair. Nothing like holding a grandbaby for the first time. Welcome to the select group of grandmas of early, tiny babies. Zoe Anne was born five weeks early and weighed 4 pounds 5.5 ounces at birth, four pounds when she went home a couple of days later. Wishing the family well as they navigate the early days with a preemie. Happy Christmas, Deborah! Many blessings for the New Year!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on becoming a grandmother! What a special gift for you all this Christmas. I hope his home coming went well and all is settling in. Enjoy every moment with him, and wishing you a wonderfull 2019!
ReplyDeleteOh, how sweet this photograph is of you and Matthew, Deborah! Congratulations and I hope he is doing well now. We just had our second great-grandchild in December. I read your current post and wondered how you have liked journaling in it the past month? My art-teacher cousin journals in a special Bible. My old journals are all in plain old notebooks. Yours is very tempting and I remember the early days of planners when I carried around a fat notebook that Alexandra Stoddard wrote about. Now mine tend to be in spiral notebooks for that too. You'll have to update us on how you like your new way.
ReplyDeleteHello Deborah, oh how exciting and congrats on the birth of your new grandson. I wish you all a lot of love and happiness with him.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your lovely visit to my blog. I hope you have a wonderful week.
