I will be taking a little blogging break, maybe about two weeks, so I can enjoy my daughter's wedding. One more week!
Most of our house guests will be arriving Wednesday with more coming in Thursday and Friday. Lots of other family at local hotels.
The food is in the freezer, the house is clean, the sheets are washed.
The seating chart is done. The dress is hanging upstairs behind closed doors, away from the cat!
The welcome bags are ready to be delivered to the hotels. The final guest count has been given to the reception manager (we're expecting 180).
Pedicure on Tuesday, mani on Saturday. My nail fungus has just barely cleared up, so I've not been wearing anything on my nails all summer. Looking forward to pretty nails.
I just want to give a shout-out to our dear blogging friend Michele at The Nest at Finch Rest. Do you know this lovely lady was so appalled when she learned I had 14 house guests staying over a long wedding weekend that she offered to drive up (she lives like 5 hours away from me), stay in a hotel, and come over to clean, run errands, serve food, etc.
Aren't blogger friends the best?! And we've never met IRL.
I thanked her and declined her offer, but she made me realize I needed to get someone in to help me clean and get ready. And I decided to take another friend up on her offer to help serve brunch and coffee the morning of the wedding while the bridal party is getting their hair and makeup done here at our house.
And my book club is going to help me fold ceremony programs Monday night.
Michele also reminded me that, no, I don't have to go to the water park and kayaking with my nephews the couple days before the wedding if I'm too busy or overwhelmed. (I am hoping all will be done, though, so I can relax and begin to enjoy all the festivities.)
Why do we feel we need to do everything ourselves?
Thank you, dear Michele, for that (gentle) kick in the butt.
So now I'm getting excited. Just hope I can sleep; I'm the kind of person who can get wound up, and then be up all night!
Nothing left to do now but praise the Lord for His awesome answer to prayer in bringing these two wonderful people together.
I'll see you all in a couple weeks.
