The red shoes I ordered came yesterday.
So comfortable! And so fun! I usually stick with muted blues, grays, and plums in my wardrobe, so red is a departure. One I should have made a while ago!
I was so reminded of a children's book I used to read to my daughter.
It was one of those books I read over and over, so many times that I had it practically memorized.
It's about a little girl who insists on wearing her red things even though her mother is always pointing out that the red gloves or boots or whatever either don't match or fit, or work for the particular weather. But the little girl is determined -- red is best!
It reminds me of my daughter, who always wore her red shoes with everything, including all her pink dresses.
Great memories. And I feel just like that little girl, with my new red shoes. "I can jump higher in my red shoes!" (Maybe.)

By the way, just to let you know how far I've come since I started blogging . . . or how far I've fallen . . . I just put these new shoes on right out of the box and snapped a couple pictures. Bam. Done.
When I first started blogging, I would have gone and shaved my legs, moisturized, and maybe put some tanning lotion on. I would have done a pedicure (even though you can barely see a toenail in the first picture and none in the second). And I would have swept and mopped the floor, or at least the part showing in the picture. Whew, no wonder I didn't get anything else done.
But now, you're all like good friends I can just invite in, even if things aren't perfect. So nice that.
Love the red shows you ordered, just my style... modern and comfortable; no reason to wear ugly shoes because of our age, no way Jose!

The red shoes look like they could jump high as the sky. Loved the last paragraph about not putting on airs and primping for all of your friends.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delight to be invited in and share the joy of your new shoes. They look wonderful, a great colour and made for comfort.
ReplyDeleteNice shoes! Not too high. I have to be careful with shoes, and hate to say it, but I am much more comfortable in shoes that keep me closer to the ground. :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy and have fun ~ FlowerLady

ReplyDeleteDearest Deborah,
ReplyDeleteOne can tell that you have fully fluffed back from your bronchitis! Sounds so bubbly and you had me laugh out loud about that funny book for children. Fond memories and there is a lot of truth in it. Just telling a person that when you really love something; it makes you feel better.
Lovely heel height and they indeed look very comfortable.
Enjoy them and hope spring is showing up at your doorsteps soon.
Hugs,
Mariette
Click your feet together like Dorothy in the Wizard of OZ :) What a fun post :)

Fun!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am such a fan of red shoes, going back to the first time I saw a pair of red toe shoes on a ballerina. I was smitten!! You look so cute in yours. There's been a nasty strain of bronchitis and the flu running rampant lately. Several of my friends have succumbed. So glad you are feeling better and back to your fun self.
ReplyDeleteCheers, M-T
Love your red shoes!
ReplyDeleteHi Deb...great shoes! I have always felt sassier when I was wearing red shoes....love red anything!
ReplyDeleteLove those red shoes, Deborah! I'm sure you'll love taking them out for a walk. 😉
ReplyDeleteAdorable shoes! Fun that you chose something unique for you! We always teased my parents about the day that they met as young people. Mother was walking to church in RED high heels. She caught my dad's eye and the rest is history! lol
ReplyDeleteAs you can see from my new header, red shoes are definitely IT...a la Dorothy. Definitely wedges for me these days. :) Love this post, Deborah, and catching up here has been so much fun. I so enjoyed seeing your pictures with blogging friends, including Stephanie. How nice it must have been to meet in person.
